Spettacolare Kennel Ethical Breeding Policy

My aim is to breed healthy, happy puppies that give their owners dedicated companionship throughout their lives.  The points noted below are what a potential puppy buyer can expect from my kennel. The future well-being of any puppy I breed is always at the centre of my breeding policy.

1.  I will only breed a litter of puppies to improve on the breed standard and only from parents that I consider to be true to type.

2.  I will only breed a litter of puppies with the full intention of keeping a puppy myself. I will not breed to supply a market or for financial gain.

3.  I will only breed from health tested bitches including eye testing, hip and elbow scoring.  I have recently introduced liver/kidney function testing due to the recent deaths of 2 bracchi from kidney failure.

4.  I will only use a stud dog that has been health tested, including eye testing, hip and elbow testing.  I will also request that the stud dog be kidney/liver function tested prior to the mating.

5.  All puppies bred by me will be reared in the home and well socialised from an early age, including the introduction of different types of toys (for mental development), household noises (to raise awareness), children and adults and lots of supervised play outside if the weather is fine.

6.  All puppies bred by me will be reared on a natural diet to give them the best start in life.

7.  All puppies bred by me will be endorsed.

8.  All puppy purchasers will be given a diet sheet, puppy pack, 6 weeks free insurance, and free advice on care and behaviour for the lifetime of the dog.

9.  All puppies bred by me will be welcomed back into my home if, for any reason, an owner cannot care for the dog at any time in its life.  I will endeavour to find a suitable, loving home and if a home cannot be found, the dog will remain with me for the rest of its days.
