Jack
KINGCOTT ZULU AKA JACK
Born: 20 September 2002
Breeder: Richard Claydon
True to his kennel name Kingcott Zulu, Jack is definitely a warrior!!! He's such a stoic little dog and will carry on regardless when working. He's a typical busy working cocker spaniel. He always needs a job to do and is only truly happy when he's working.
At home, however, the feisty little working dog turns into a couch potato!! He claims all the comfiest spots - and all the toys are his - he only allows the other dogs to play with them!!! He's certainly a character and that's putting it mildly.
Lots of people have said to me that they feel that their WCS knows exactly what they are thinking and what they are saying to them. I definitely agree with that where Jack's concerned. He's been here before and can run rings round me if he so wishes.
When working Jack is a completely different dog. He runs around with a huge grin on his face which tells me "this is what I was bred to do mum!". However, the other name for WCS is "the undertaker" - so named because of their love for burying things. It's not the first time that Jack has taken off with a pheasant in his mouth after deciding he'd given too many back and this one is his!! Highly embarrassing for me but as some of my shooting buddies tell me "that's the reason I'd never have another cocker!" as they howl with laughter as I chase him over 2 or 3 fields!! We send in the springers at the end of the day to find the bird Jack buries. They all adore him though and he always gets a laugh - at my expense!!
